AUTHOR’S APOLOGY
In uncovering Indian cricket, care has been taken to do so only up to a point—the point at which we can profit by the lessons we should have learnt by heart, but which we have been inclined to forget. What has been aimed at is not sensationalism, but an effort at looking ahead in the light of past experiences—some of which, admittedly, have been rather bitter.
Indian cricket has immense possibilities. To realise them in full, what is most needed today is putting the correct accent on the word—Discipline.
“The game is greater than the players of the game,
And the ship is greater than the crew.”
